Games play a very important role in every individual life. Games help to stay healthy and energetic. There is lot of different games along with a lot of benefits, like, some cures health while some revives stamina. So, each of us should prefer to play games. Games help us to unite our stamina in a most efficient way. The country`s government also contribute their participation to make us understand the importance of games. Asian Games, the good example of government efforts.
Basically, Asian Games are the multi-sport event, held in every four years between the athletes all over Asia. The idea and the credit of bringing up the Asian Games into existence goes to Prof. G.D. Sondhi, a member of the International Olympic Committee in the thirties. The first step taken in this direction was the formation of the Asian Games Federation in New Delhi on 13th February, 1949 when it was decided to hold the Asian Games every fourth year. The first Asian games were staged from 4th March to 11th March in 1951 at New Delhi which includes 489 Athletes from 11 countries like Afghanistan, Burma (now Myanmar), Ceylon (now Sri Lanka), India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. The games covered six disciplines, i.e.; athletics, basketball, cycling, football, swimming and weightlifting. Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru (then Prime Minister) encouraged the participants and persuade them to play with the most of their efficiency.
Athletes from all over the Asia, highly participated in these games to represent their motherlands. Every one of them brings the authenticity and the tastes of their culture and motherlands in the battle ground. Competitor in these games has a lot of stamina, but we all know the winner is always One.
India took the hosting of another Asian Games in 1982 at New Delhi. It was a spectacular show. 4500 participant of 33 countries, breaking 101 previous records in that year.
India has won at least one gold medal at every Asian Games, and always ranked within the top 10 nations of the medal table except in the 1990 Asian Games. We all remember the unforgettable names from that battle ground like P.T Usha, Dipika Pallikal, Sunil Chettri, P.V. Sindhu and many more.
Asian Games are hosted by Jakarta, Palembang in 2018. The glory took place again with the wish of Bird of Paradise.
Participants from different countries pack their bags and came with a bang to grab the gold for their countries. I want to say that simplicity and authenticity of different participants shows their dedication, their dreams for their countries. This year, the record table shows head turning performances of the Indian participants. Till now, India grabbed 11 gold, 20 silver and 23 bronze medals. Everyone should be proud because not only boys, girls are also performing their cards well. They are capable to turn the head of competitor and make the move for them. Now take a look about the performances of Indian competitors:
1. Swapna Barman wins women’s heptathalon gold medal
2. Arpinder Singh wins gold in men’s triple jump
3. Dutee Chand wins silver medal in women’s 200m event
4. Indian mixed doubles table tennis pair wins bronze

I know that this is just the beginning and India will achieve a lot of medals till the end and make the rising glory just like the MASCOT (Bird Of Paradise). We all wish the good luck for them and hoping for the best.
