After the introduction of the third generation Toyota Innova, the HyCross, the Japanese carmaker decided to axe the petrol version of the Crysta, making it only available in a diesel variant. In addition, it is exclusively available with a manual transmission.
But, if you are a buyer looking for a future-proof Toyota Innova, you should consider the Innova HyCross. It is offered in both petrol and hybrid engines. There are, however, other Toyota cars in India that offer hybrid engines, such as the Hyryder and their flagship sedan, the Camry.

As far as the Innova Crysta’s pricing is concerned, only the lower variants of the Crysta are launched with a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 19.99 lakh. The carmaker will introduce other variants as well. And, just so you know, the starting price of the Innova HyCross is cheaper than the Crysta, which is at Rs 18.55 lakh.

So, if you are a buyer who wants a capable diesel-MUV with a good resale value and that too, reliable, you should definitely consider the Innova Crysta.

Specifications

Now, as far as the performance is concerned, the BS6 Phase-2 compliant Toyota Innova Crysta is exclusively powered by a 2.4-litre turbocharged diesel engine, which is tuned to churn out 147.51 bhp at 3400 rpm and 343 Nm of peak torque at 2800 rpm. As mentioned earlier, this MUV makes its rear wheels spin via a standard five-speed manual transmission. As of now, the carmaker hasn’t announced to bring back the automatic transmission.
Further, this vehicle stores its fuel in a 55-litre fuel tank. It has a pretty decent fuel tank, especially considering the overall size of the MUV. Given that, the Crysta was among the bestselling vehicles in the country. You can check out the Crysta price on the autoX website.

Fuel efficiency

As seen in the past, the suspension setup gets better and better with a new-gen Innova.

The variant with steel rims has a tyre profile of 205/65 R16, while the alloy wheels variant has a bigger tyre profile of 215/55 R17. Moreover, the braking duties are taken care of drum-disc brakes. Like any other mass-market car except for a few, the disc brakes are at the front and drum brakes are at the rear. This setup is standard across the variants.
